Marla

CBRS/CM

After retiring from a fulfilling teaching career, I moved from California to Idaho ten years ago.
Throughout my time in education, students and families often turned to me for guidance and
support, which naturally led me toward the field of mental health. I earned my psychology
degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in the 1990s, and have since built a meaningful career
helping others. Over the past six years, I’ve worked in Case Management and Community-
Based Rehabilitation Services (CBRS), and I also have experience as a Behavior Interventionist.
Idaho has truly felt like home—I feel like I was raised here—and it’s been a wonderful place to
grow both personally and professionally. I’ve had the privilege of working with children,
families, and adults facing a wide range of mental health challenges, and I genuinely love
helping people navigate their journeys. Currently, I’m pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical
Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. Outside of work and studies, I stay active in
my church, enjoy horseback riding, gardening, cooking, hiking, walking, and dog training. My
cat, Bingley, keeps me company, while my spirited Heeler, Milo, loves to herd me around! I’m
excited about the opportunity to join ABM and collaborate with its exceptional staff.
